Ice Cream
Ciconia - Babyluv Care x Gelato Ladies 0,55 l
Handcrafted chocolate ice cream with chilli, cinnamon and dates. Created with baby foodies in mind. Babyluv Care, Gelato Ladies and midwives have collaborated to create the first ice cream specifically designed to support babies. Carefully selected ingredients give the ice cream its distinctive flavour, and its consumption during pregnancy has a positive impact on both mother and baby. PS. This ice-cream is also a great dessert for all non-babies. :) Because of the functional nutrients it contains, this ice cream is a healthier choice than regular sweets. CHOCOLATE A study has shown that consuming 30 g of chocolate per day during pregnancy can help the growth and development of the baby. The flavanol in chocolate is a natural bioactive compound that affects processes in the body. In the study, expectant mothers who ate 30 g of chocolate a day had significantly improved uterine circulation. As the uterine circulation improves, so does the growth and development of the baby. In addition, chocolate is a good source of antioxidants. CINNAMON Cinnamon is known as a blood sugar stabiliser and can act as an antidote to the sugar in chocolate. Studies have shown that cinnamon controls the amount of glucose entering the bloodstream by mimicking insulin. In addition to regulating blood sugar and tasting good, cinnamon also has prebiotic and antibacterial properties. DATES Dates are valued primarily for their high fibre and natural sugar content, but an equally important benefit is their ability to support the birth process. Studies show that eating six dates a day for 4 weeks before the due date can reduce the need to induce labour and help the cervix to soften and open. How does one fruit do this? One of the reasons why dates can help speed up labour is because they contain nutrients that prevent physical weakness, i.e. high levels of sugar and carbohydrates, protein, fatty acids, salt, potassium and magnesium. Dates also contain saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, which can produce prostaglandins, which in turn play an important role in cervical opening, accelerating labour and increasing the frequency of contractions. Like cinnamon, dates are rich in antioxidants, helping the body to prevent cell damage
