A. H. Riise Royal Danish Navy
Royal Danish Navy Strength 55% is created based on the original recipes used for the fantastic and best selling "Royal Danish Navy 40%". It is characterized by a high alcohol content without affecting the taste, apart from the intended "bite" in the aroma. This is achieved by the traditional still method of distillation, which results in a high ester content and a strong aroma. Aroma: stewed dark fruit, burnt figs, orange peel and a small, well-integrated "bite" from the otherwise high alcohol content. Taste: creamy, spicy and very full flavored with sherry caramel, dates, cardamom and eucalyptus. Finish: long, creamy and spicy with a wonderful minty undertone. 55% vol. (0,7l)

The rum was made from sugar cane juice grown in Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana and Honduras. It is the uniqueness of the terroir of cane cultivation, observed for centuries, that gave rise to a unique mixture where the mutual combination gives rum its unique complexity. Barbados: soft and sweet with hints of vanilla and banana; Belize: medium-bodied, with notes of coffee and cocoa; Brazil: light fruity with aromas of tropical fruits such as mango and papaya; Costa Rica: full and aromatic with hints of coriander and ginger; Dominican Republic: full and sweet with notes of caramel and vanilla; El Salvador: dry with floral aromas and exceptional smoothness; Guyana: full-bodied, heavy to earthy, with chocolate and caramel flavors; Honduras: medium-bodied, with notes of orange and cinnamon. This small-batch rum pollen was created in collaboration with the West Indies rum distillery, where production took place according to a tradition going back to the original West Indies spiced rum according to recipes from the 16th and 17th centuries. The rum is aged in Kentucky ex-Bourbon casks and the fining procedure takes place in Barbados. The individual components of the rum have been aged for an average of 15 years before achieving their exceptional balance and fluidity, without sacrificing the richness and complexity that makes Bumbu rum unique. Ultra-pure water, together with carefully selected sugar cane from the Caribbean and South America, provides a lightness and smoothness that is central to the drink and its remarkable drinkability. Appearance - glass bottle hand made with an "X" on the front in pewter and a gilded map of the Caribbean islands in the background, the bottle is closed with a natural cork all connected by hand with a high proportion of handwork. Overall, the rum offers a complex aroma of soft caramel and vanilla. A gem among Caribbean rums, Ron Barceló rum from the Dominican Republic is significantly different from other lightness, which is the result of a very gentle roasting process, thanks to which the rum is well tolerated by the human body, the secret ingredient (Malaga wine) added to the rum during mixing also plays its role . Aging takes place in American oak barrels previously used to make bourbon. Each cask is carefully numbered, making it possible to accurately monitor the quality of the rum. The maturation time of individual species is then significantly longer than required by law. The secret of the success of Barceló rums lies in the exceptional quality, which is the result of the desire for perfection of three generations of the Barceló family. The tradition of making Barceló rum dates back to the 1920s, when Mr. Julián Barceló settled in the Dominican Republic. Rum set with two original Depaz glasses. Depaz VSOP is an exceptional, often awarded rum, invented by Victor Depaz himself. It continues to collect awards such as this Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2016 Gold Medal. Aged for 7 years in the cellars of the famous distillery, it seduces with incredible richness, floral intensity and freshness. Depaz Distillery, located at the foot of Mount Pelee, is one of the smallest production units in Martinique. Its story began in 1651, when Jacques Duparquet, the first governor of the island, founded the house of La Montagne, the cradle of Depaz rums. Its current version was inaugurated on May 8, 1917. But as with its creation, the Depaz distillery has remained very artisanal. The Depaz Distillery still works today thanks to an old steam engine. The heart of the distillery provides the energy needed to power the mills used to grind the stills and run the stills. After fermentation for 48 hours, the cane wine is distilled thanks to 3 Creole-type columns equipped with 5 9 concentration trays. In the column output, the rum name is around 72%. It is then stored in the winery, where it rests before the selection of batches for maturation. Old rums are aged mainly in American and French oak barrels, new or used, ranging from 200 to 350 liters.

1 360,00 KčGlenmorangie 10y
This is the basic version of Glenmorangie aged 10 years in bourbon casks. It has an aroma of spicy, walnut and sandalwood, faintly floral, sweet, fresh. It has a whiff of the sea. The taste is spicy, floral with malt notes, creamy, almost buttery. The finish is long and ripe. Glenmorangie Distillery was founded in 1843 when it was registered by William Mathieson of Tallinn, but alcohol had been produced on the site of Glenmorangie since 1738. For a very long time it was one of the last distilleries owned by an independent company. However, in 2004 it acquired a majority of the shares of Glenmorangie Plc. the Moet Hennessy company (owns e.g. Hennessy cognac and Don Perignon champagne. The Moet Hennessy company thus simultaneously acquired the Glen Moray and Ardbeg brands, which belonged to the Glenmorangie Plc. portfolio) The translation of the name Glenmorangie is Valley of Calm (or Hollow by the Water). The boilers located in the distillery are the tallest in Scotland (513 cm) and are considered an important source of flavor: during distillation, alcohol vapors escape through a relatively long path, gradually getting rid of unwanted impurities. The company claims that thanks to them, only the purest alcohol vapors reach the top of the column. The distillery management previously refused to allow their spirit to become part of blended whiskys of other brands. Only recently did she start accepting these orders. A tiny amount of Glen Moray whisky is added to the vat - just enough to not affect the flavor of the maturing whisky, but enough to prevent independent bottling companies from selling this whisky as a single malt under the famous Glenmorangie name against the will of the company. This distillery has a very extensive product portfolio. This is mainly due to the fact that the distillery lets its products mature first in bourbon barrels and then in port, sherry, Madeira or other products. 40% vol. (0,7l)

The smallest distillery in Scotland that shows it started as a farm. The distillery was founded in 1825 by a group of local farmers and has been using the Edradour name since 1837. 1 390,00 KčBalblair 12y
The distillery is located in an area where, thanks to the availability of excellent peat and water, whisky has always been distilled, either under license or illegally. At the end of the 19th century, the distillery was rebuilt. Not a single granite bag has changed since that time. The style of construction of this distillery became an architectural model for some other Scottish and world malt whisky distilleries. There are two copper boilers in operation at the Balblair distillery and there is a third boiler, but it has not been used for over twenty years. At the beginning of 2019, Balblair's core range received a revival that eschewed classic vintage embellishments! This is the entry level of the range, an eleven year old single malt matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and double fired American oak casks. Although the vintages are gone, Balblair whisky retains its wonderful creamy and fruity feel. Aroma: waxy finish, fluffy cake, soft earthy cedar and a hint of nutmeg. Taste: juicy red apple and cooked pear with hints of honey and barley. Conclusion: echo of honey with a hint of milk tea and notes of sultanas. 46% vol. (0,7l)

A typical representative of the Coastal East. The distillery was founded in 1819 by the Duke of Sutherland. The quality of this whisky was so valued that it was only supplied to a small group of private customers. Clynelish uniquely combines the qualities of the North Highland region and seaside influences. The color of this whisky is golden yellow, it has a light aroma of candle wax, dried flowers and brown sugar. The seaside character gives way to a slightly waxy taste with a dry and salty finish. The current Clynelish Distillery was founded in 1967 (commissioned 1969), but for many years before that (since 1819) the name belonged to the distillery now called Brora, which has been out of business since 1983 (probably permanently). The new Clynelish Distillery is three times the size of the original and replicates the Caol Ila Distillery (both owned by United Distillers). Only 1% of production is bottled as single malt, the rest is used in Johnnie Walker Black Label blended whisky. 46% vol. (0,7l)

1 050,00 KčGold Cock Peated
In 2016, the producers of Gold Cock decided to try an untrodden path and produce the first heavily smoked Czech whisky. In the Bruntál Malt, three times more peat than usual was burnt during the drying of the malt, and thus they reached a level that even in Scotland indicates heavily smoked whisky, i.e. around 30 PPM. It was distilled as slowly as possible and the resulting distillate was then aged in refurbished barrels from Bednářství Bařina. This whisky is different not only because of the clearly recognizable stronger smokiness, but above all because the greater amount of peat gives this distillate a completely new dimension. It is the first Gold Cock whisky that is not characteristically fruity, but floral notes prevail in both the aroma and taste. Naturally with a dry smoky aftertaste. 45% vol. (0,7l)
750,00 KčGold Cock Blended
Gold Cock Blended is a combination of three-year-old malt whisky and six-year-old grain whisky. Aged in Czech oak barrels, thanks to which it is not colored. The aroma is pleasantly malty, with a noticeable trace of smoke and a strong influence of wood, the taste is full of malt whisky, with notes of dark fruit combined with wood. The aftertaste is medium long, distinctive, woody and malty. The original Czech whisky "Gold Cock", produced since 1978 in Těšetice near Olomouc, was blended. It was produced as a three-year-old 40% blended whisky for almost twenty years. Only the revolutionary year 1989 meant fundamental changes for this brand as well. In addition to design innovations, production was expanded to include six-year and twelve-year single malt whisky. Despite these efforts, the distillery was auctioned off, so it came into the possession of the Vizo company Rudolf Jelínek, where the original stock of distillate continued to be bottled, and before long, its own production was added. The brand rebranding and changing the name to Gold Cock are also connected with the completely new portfolio. A basic product line has emerged, which is enriched by several limits per year. However, the new portfolio still lacked the foundation of the former brand, i.e. blended whisky, the production of which was discontinued after the old stocks from the original distillery were used up. However, we worked hard on replacing the blend from distillates from the current distillery. The result is Gold Cock Blended. 42% vol. (0,7l)

That's when our predecessors tried to make a whisky in which, at the first taste, you will know that it is different, original. And so the story of the original Czech whisky from Czech barley, matured in oak barrels made from Czech wood, was born. Our goal is to continue this tradition and preserve what makes our whisky unique. 49% vol. (0,7l)

About 50% of the production reaches the market as single malt, the rest is used for the production of blended whisky brand Clan Campbell, which belongs to the same company. The first and still produced whisky from Kilchoman, Machir Bay is matured first in bourbon casks and finally in oloroso sherry casks. IWSC 2012 - Gold Medal - whisky - Scotch. Kilchoman is a completely unique, traditional farm distillery. The farm was established in 2005 as the eighth distillery on Islay, the only one in the last 125 years. Antony Wills and Marc French's partnership project began with the renovation of a small farming village of a few houses and a chapel on Kilchoman Beach. The philosophy of the distillery with the same name is traditional single malt production. As the only distillery in Scotland, it uses its own barley. Own malt house (as one of 6 distilleries in Scotland), local peat, a still that is heated by an open fire, fermentation vessels made of wood, local water that flows through the bog. Aging is 80% in Kentucky Bourbon casks, 20% in Sherry Oloroso casks. The barley that remains as a by-product is used as fertilizer in farm fields or as feed for local livestock. Kilchoman is also the smallest distillery in Scotland with an annual production of 100.000 L of whisky, which is roughly the weekly production of other distilleries. Kilchoman is not only unique in its production system, but also in the fact that it produces only one product, single malt. Ardbeg Ten was relaunched in 2000, Ardbeg, today recognized by experts and aficionados and a highly valued distillery from the island of Islay, had a very difficult start. Although the first foundations were laid in 1794, the construction was interrupted due to lack of funds. It wasn't until 1815 that money was found to renew the construction. This year is also listed on the labels as the year of foundation. Ardbeg Distillery was founded by John McDougall on the site of an earlier black distillery. The distillery remained in his family's possession until 1977, when it was purchased by Hiram Walker and Sons. It was closed in 1983, but in 1997, after being bought by Glenmorangie Plc, operations were resumed. In the 1980s, after the closure of the local malthouse, experiments were made with the use of less peated malt, under the current owners malt is still bought, but again heavily peated, which gives Ardbeg whisky its unmistakable character. The exception among all the distilleries is that Ardbeg is not used in blended whiskys at all, all production is bottled as single malt. 10- and 17-year-old whiskys are the most common on the market, and the distillery also produces various special bottlings (Very Young, Very Old, Uigeadail, Serendipity, Lord of the Isles, etc.). 46% vol. 1 490,00 KčIsle of Jura 12y + 2x glass - gift packaging
Rich whisky whose charm comes from the combined maturation in American white oak casks and Oloroso sherry casks. The Isle of Jura Distillery was founded in 1810, but according to historical evidence, illegal distilling has been taking place on the remote island since the early 16th century, so unofficially it could be the oldest distillery in Scotland. In 1875, the distillery was bought by James Ferguson, who rebuilt it in 1884. However, at the beginning of the 20th century, the distillery was closed due to a dispute with the local Mr. C. Campbell. A revival took place in the 1950s thanks to Robin Fletcher, Riley-Smith and Delm Evans, who hoped that reopening the distillery will help increase employment opportunities on the island. The new distillery began operations in 1963. The distillery is currently owned by Whyte & Mackay Ltd. The original Jurassic whisky was heavily peated, similar to that from a nearby island Islay, however, during the conversion, tall stills were installed, producing a lighter whisky more akin to the Highlands. Single malts are bottled at 10, 16 and 21 years of age, the specialties are Superstition (bottled in 2002 without age indication) and Jura 1984 (a 19-year-old whisky produced to commemorate the birth anniversary of George Orwell, who wrote his novel 1984 on this island.) In 1919, he was sent to Scotland by Settsu Shuzo to gain experience and technical knowledge of whisky production. While studying at the University of Glasgow, he learned blending and distilling and was to use his experience in the production of Japanese whisky for the Settsu Shuzo company. When he returned to Japan in 1920, he found that the intended project would probably never come to fruition. Two years later, he lost his job, so in 1923 he joined the Kotobukiya group, for which he built a distillery near the city of Kyoto, thus becoming the father of Japan's first whisky in 1924. In 1934, Masataka Taketsuru decided to become independent, founded the company Nippo Kaju, had the Yoichi distillery built on the island of Hokkaido, and started producing the first blends in the same year. In 1952, Nippo Kaju definitively adopted the name Nikka Whisky. In 1969, he built another distillery on the island of Honshu near the city of Sendai. 10 years later, Masataka Taketsuru died at the age of 85. His muse throughout his life was Jessie Roberta Cowan, whom he met during his studies and whom he married in Glasgow in 1920, Together they moved to Japan, where Jessie Roberta changed her name to Rita, learned Japanese and never returned to Scotland she did not return. Ardbeg An Oa (sometimes called Ardbeg Oa for short) is the latest whisky from the Ardbeg distillery's core range. Sweet, coming from Pedro Ximenez cherry barrels, spicy, from unused virgin oak barrels and intense from American bourbon barrels. Together they form a beautifully rich, smoky and rounded package of aromas and flavors. Peat, caramels, dark chocolate, anise, black pepper, cinnamon or cloves. The typically long smoky finish is equally rich. Ardbeg An Oa is a great whisky full of the harsh flavors of the island of Islay. The Mull of Oa is the southernmost tip of the Scottish island of Islay. Here, the ocean relentlessly attacks the high cliffs, the wind regularly whips the grassy plains. Rough, but in any case, a wonderful part of the "island of whisky", where you can meet at any moment several natural elements at once. The locals know it very well here, not only for the great views of the ocean. And since it is a stone's throw from here to the Ardbeg distillery, they decided to dedicate their own bottle to the Mull of Oa peninsula here - An Oa Ardbeg. 46.60% vol. (0,7l)

Ardbeg 10 (46%, unfiltered with subcooling) has a very deep and balanced aroma, with a mixture of caramel chocolate, cinnamon and above all smoky tones on a citrus herbal background. The taste has sweet, full notes of peat with smoky tobacco and coffee notes with a licorice trace. The aftertaste is long, full of smoky malt tones with a distinctly peaty character. Ardbeg Ten was relaunched in 2000, Ardbeg 10y is a whisky that everyone should try. Ardbeg, today recognized by experts and amateurs and a highly valued distillery from the island of Islay, had a very difficult start. Books about whisky 📚
Scotch whisky - Svatopluk Buchlovský
One of the most comprehensive whisky encyclopedias. It is all the more interesting that its author is one of the most famous personalities on the Czech whisky scene - Svatopluk Buchlovský. But let's leave the characterization of the publication to the author himself: The book you are considering ordering is definitely not a novel that can be read in one sitting, which at 1,200 large format pages is not even possible. In a way, it is rather an encyclopedia full of production procedures, brands, data and numbers with a lot of technical terms. It is precisely this detailed look at the basic raw materials and the entire process of making Scotch whisky and the continuous comparison with other distillates that makes Whiskybrání different from a number of other publications that constantly appear on the book market. While writing the book, I took full advantage of the unique opportunity to visit all Scottish distilleries, of which there are more than 100, to talk with their directors and workers, and even to spend a few days directly in production in several of these distilleries. Thanks to the many questions asked, detailed notes and photographic documentation, step by step I began to understand the obvious and often hidden nuances of the immensely rich world of whisky. The same applies to companies that supply peat, malt, yeast, caramel, casks, bottles, caps, labels, packaging or store, bottle, bottle or sell Scotch whisky. The result is a description and organoleptic of individual distilleries and brands. After all, the potential reader will also follow the same path, who may also be a little surprised at first that such attention is paid to wine in a book about distillates. Given that the first two parts in particular are also intended for university students, it was necessary to incorporate at an appropriate level some related questions from the field of biology, chemistry, fermentation and distillation technology, which in no way makes the book more readable. At the end, detailed indexes are attached, which enable basic orientation in a demanding professional text. It is clear from the above words that the four-part publication Whiskybraní is intended only for those who are genuinely interested in the given issue, be it from among professionals, students or the lay public. From my own experience, I can add that the text and often also photos of distilleries or bottles of whisky directly encourage you to taste some distillate. There is no need to resist this at all, because it also belongs to this book. On the other hand, let the principle of reasonable sufficiency prevail!

Aberlour 12y Double Cask
A special set of Aberlour Double Cask Matured 12 years with 4 cooling stones and an original glass from Aberlour. The aroma is very soft, inviting, with a nutty and sherry. The taste is soft and malty, reflecting maturation in both sherry and bourbon casks. Aberlour Distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming (on the site of an older distillery dating from 1826). In 1898, the distillery burned down completely, but was quickly rebuilt to allow production to continue. Except for two world wars, it was in service throughout its existence. It was rebuilt in 1973 and since 1974 belongs to the French company Pernod Ricard. About 50% of the production reaches the market as single malt, the rest is used for the production of blended whisky brand Clan Campbell, which belongs to the same company. Aberlour means 'mouth of the bubbling brook' in Gaelic, probably referring to the local spring of St. Drostana, which is shown on the distillery labels. However, this one is not a source in 40% vol. 1 100,00 KčGlenallachie 15y
GlenAllechie 15 years - it's been a few years since they formed GlenAllechie Distillery and brought it back into private ownership. At that moment, a visitor center was opened, two warehouses were added and the number of employees grew from 7 to 21, and now together GlenAllechie and MacNair's whiskys are recognized as one of the best single malts and win countless medals and awards. Color: bronze color to the tones of the setting sun. Aroma: full of raisin notes, buttery biscuit and sweet root. Taste: palette of sweet spices, raisins and buttery biscuits complemented by notes of banana, orange peel and dark chocolate. GlenAllachie Distillery, located in the heart of Speyside, in a place called the Glen of the Rocky Place / Gleann Aileachaidh, was built in the late 1960s by MacKinlay-McPherson with the aim of saturating their need for Speyside malt whisky in their then very popular blends. With the same goal and for the same purpose, later in the eighties it was taken over by the Invergordon group and subsequently by Pernod Ricard (owner of the nearby Aberlour Distillery), who modernized the distillery and doubled its capacity (today approx. 3 million liters per year). Single malt production from this distillery was almost exclusively available to whisky lovers from independent producers, until 2017, when the distillery was bought by a consortium of investors led by Billy Walker. by the man who built the modern form of Glendronach - Benriach - Glenglassaugh distilleries/brands, and who - with the money from their sale to American investors - bought "something smaller". 46% vol. 2 190,00 KčCragganmore 12y
A highly regarded 12 year old whisky from the Speyside region. The solid core is enriched with a dry, very delicate aroma with a smoky flavor. A pleasant malt whisky with a great reputation and typical characteristics. As one of the first distilleries, Cragganmore was already awarded an "A1" rating by the Distillers' Guild in 1926. In 1989, the brand was accepted into the top six classic malt whiskys, and in 1998 it won a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. Cragganmore Distillery was founded by John Smith (son of the founder of Glenlivet Distillery) in 1869-70, In 1923 the distillery was bought by Glenlivet Distillery Co Ltd (equally owned by White Horse Distillers & Ballindalloch Estate). The boilers in the distillery have a special shape - a flat top. The distillery is owned by United Distillers and the license is held by D. & J. McCallum. The distillery takes its water from the Craggan Burn at Craggan More Hill. Around 30% of the production is sold as single malt, the rest is used in the production of blended whiskys such as McCallum's Perfection and White Horse. 40% vol. (0,7l)
1 190,00 KčGlenfiddich 12y
A classic 12-year-old Glenfiddich, it has a light and delicate aroma, after fruits such as pears, cherries, plums and honey. However, the taste does not reach the delicacy of the aroma. It has sweetness, pears in honey and roasted nuts. The finish is soft, slightly fruity with a hint of chocolate. The Glenfiddich distillery was founded by William Grant in 1886 using 'second-hand' material bought from E. Cumming of the Cardhu distillery. To this day, the distillery remains in the hands of the Grant family. Glenfiddich was the first Scottish distillery to export single malt whisky abroad. What is also exceptional is that the entire production process, from distillation to maturation to bottling, takes place in a single place. Barley is also partially grown on the family farm. By default, whisky is produced here as 12, 15, 18, 21 and 30 years old. Also known are Glenfiddich Classic 12-year-old, Glenfiddich Solera Reserve 15-year-old, blended from whisky that matured in three different casks, Glenfiddich Excellence 18-year-old, matured in sherry casks, Glenfiddich Ancient Reserve 18-year-old, also bottled in ceramic bottles and Glenfiddich 30-year-old. To a lesser extent, various specialties also appear on the market, e.g. Glenfiddich Heritage Reserve (e.g. Bonnie Prince Charlie or Mary Queen of Scots), 21-year-old Glenfiddich Wedgwood Decanter, 18-year-old Glenfiddich Superior Reserve Gold, Glenfiddich Centenary 1987 produced for the hundredth anniversary of the distillery, etc. Independent fulfillments are rare. The Grants are jealous of the quality of their whisky, so every cask sold to wholesalers or blended whisky makers is 'tainted' with a bit of whisky from sister distillery Balvenie (and vice versa) to prevent it from being considered single malt. It's not even sold under the distillery's official name. Balvenie with a drop of Glenfiddich is called Burnside, Glenfiddich with a drop of Balvenie Warhead. 40% vol. (0,7l)

Glenlivet aged 15 years in Limousin oak gives it aromas of sandalwood, mint and vanilla. Complex flavor with a dry finish. After the tax law was passed in 1823, which allowed black distilleries to be legalized, George Smith was the first to apply for legalization of his distillery (1824). From the beginning he operated a distillery on his farm, in 1858 he built a new distillery on the current location. The name Glenlivet soon became a household name in the whisky world and other distilleries began to use it. In 1880, John Gordon Smith (son of the founder) sued them and (partially) won the trademark dispute. The Glenlivet Distillery became The Glenlivet and other distilleries are only allowed to use the name as an epithet. The current owner (Pernod-Ricard) is trying to go even further and get the competition to drop the Glenlivet name altogether. With the exception of World War II, the distillery was in operation throughout its existence. 40% vol. (0,7l)
1 470,00 KčBenRiach 10y Curiositas
Benriach Curiositas Peated Malt is a heavily peated single malt whisky. The aroma is manifested by strong peat smoke, in the background there are fruits, heather and fragrant notes of honey with the presence of oak wood. Benriach Curiositas represents a return to the original character of Speyside, whose malt and peat flavors were typical in the 19th century. An avalanche of peat dominates the palate, followed by an extravagant and complex blend of fruit, heather, nuts, oak and spice. It is proof that the optimal balance between peat smoke and bittersweet fruit infusion with a touch of oak can be easily achieved even after ten years of aging. Also perfect with a sip of water. 46% vol. (0,7l)

In 1927-47 it was closed and used as warehouses for Glenrothes whisky. In 1975, the number of boilers was increased to six, and a year later the first single malt whisky from this distillery was launched. Nevertheless, most whiskys are still used today to make blended whiskys (notably Famous Grouse, J&B and Cutty Sark). Interesting facts: the name of the distillery means Little Dark Hill in Gaelic. It is the only distillery in Speyside that produces its own malt. 43% vol. (0,7l)

1 090,00 KčGlen Grant 12y + 2 glass GB
This whisky has the character of Glen Grant without the significant influence of sherry, newly aged 12 years. The aroma is still dry, but much softer, with sweetness. The taste has a slightly sweet start and then a quick transition to nutty and dry. The finish is already very dry with hints of herbs. Glen Grant Distillery was founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant. In 1897, James' son James expanded the operation by building a second distillery in close proximity, called Glen Grant 2 (now Caperdonich). In 1953, the Glen Grant distillery merged with Glenlivet to form Glenlivet and Glen Grant Distillers Ltd., which was bought by Seagram in 1978. In 2001, the distillery, together with several others, was sold to the French company Pernod-Ricard, and in 2006 it was bought by the Italian Campari. whisky Glen Grant is one of the basic components in some blended whisky, e.g. Chivas Regal, Passport. 1 150,00 KčMortlach 12y The Wee Witchie
An entry-level element of the Mortlach range, which combines ex-bourbon and ex-sherry-matured whiskys to balance the traditionally heavy, dried fruit character of the distillate against fresh fruit and vanilla notes. The result is a success that combines the best of both of these worlds while showing the steadfast spirit of Mortlach. Mortlach Distillery was founded in 1823 by James Findlater, Donald McIntosh and Alexander Gordon. After a hiatus of several years, the distillery was taken over by John Gordon in 1852, who a year later took on George Cowie as a partner. After Gordon's death, Cowie became the sole owner of the distillery. When his only grandson died in the war in 1917, the distillery was sold to J. Walker & Co. In 1963, the distillery was completely rebuilt and modernized. It is one of nine distilleries in the town of Dufftown, and the oldest of them. Today, Diageo owns the distillery. Diageo, as well as the previous owners (UDV and United Distillers), used Mortlach whisky almost exclusively for their blends (the most significant of which was Johnnie Walker), in its single malt form it appeared practically only in the legendary Flora and Fauna series and in several bottlings of independent bottling companies. The excellent quality, the somewhat stepmotherly attitude of the distillery owners and the resulting unavailability on the market have made the distillery and Mortlach whisky a cult item over the years. 43% vol. A unique collection of Classic malt & food with a cookbook. In addition to the 12 year designation, the manufacturer also indicates the year of distillation on the label. The individual years of distillation do not fundamentally differ from each other, although you will find subtle differences if you look deeper, because each year has its own individual character. It has a fine soft taste, faintly creamy and honey. The aroma is weak, with the taste of grass peat. Finish nutty, caramel dry. A very delicious and smooth whisky. The Knockando distillery was founded in 1898. It was the first distillery in Scotland to be electrified (at the very beginning of the 20th century). In 1969, it underwent reconstruction, during which the number of boilers was doubled. It is currently owned by United Distillers. The distillery has been supplying single malt whisky to the market since 1978 and labels it not by age, but by the year of distillation. Although the Knockando distillery is the eighth largest producer of single malt whisky, only 8% of its production is processed as single, the rest being used in blended whisky brands J&B and Spey Royal. Most whisky is aged in sherry casks. It is said that it reaches perfection after 12-15 years of maturation. whiskys filled as vintage are mixed from several barrels from the corresponding vintage and one vintage does not differ significantly from another, although there may be subtle differences. The distillery usually does not stock whiskys marked with age, but rather based on when, in the opinion of the distillery management, they are at their best quality. They are then marked according to the years of distillation. The standard version of Knockando is between 12 and 14 years old, for the US market it is also produced as 18 and 21 years old. The specialty is vintage whiskys, more than 20 years old Knockando Single Cask, 21 to 24 years old Knockando Extra Old Reserve, 20- to 22-year-old Knockando Master's Reserve. 2 075,00 KčBenRiach The Smoky Ten 10y
A fruity whisky that showcases the darker, lesser-known side of the Benriach distillery: peaty and smoky. This ten-year-old combines bourbon and virgin oak casks with Jamaican rum casks for a fruity, smoky and spicy expression. In the early 1970s, Benriach broke with Speyside convention by returning to old-style 19th-century whisky stills using malted barley smoked with highlands. This wood-rich alpine peat imparts distinctive sweet and smoky notes to Benriach whisky. Benriach The Smoky Ten was made from a combination of still and mild alcohol and three casks aged for at least ten years in a combination of bourbon casks, Jamaican rum casks and toasted virgin oak. The whisky is then expertly combined to create wonderfully smooth layers of sunflower fruit, aromatic smoke and toasted oak spice that linger into a perfectly balanced sweet and smoky finish. 46% vol. Every batch we make of our 10-year Cask Strength whisky represents the direction GlenAllachie will take," says Master Distiller Billy Walker. Demonstrating the influence of exceptional cask management, the tenth edition of this highly sought-after edition embodies this philosophy and proudly builds on side of its esteemed predecessors. Each of them strives to improve upon the previous one, so the 10th batch is a true display of the artistry and expertise that goes into creating every drop of this liquid gold. To achieve a classic sherry profile, Billy hand-selected Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks, paired with a spirit aged in red wine casks and medium-toast/medium-charred American virgin oak casks. The result is a well-balanced yet complex malt with strong dark fruit notes and layers of warm sweet spice. It is presented in its purest form in a natural cask strength of 58.6%, without added dyes and cold filtration. Color: intensely saturated mahogany. 1 790,00 KčMeikle Toir 5y The Original
Meikle Toir Original 5 Year Old was launched in late 2023 as the base variant of the new single malt peat range from Billy Walker's Glenallachie distillery. Meikle Toir Original has a peat content of around 35 ppm and after aging in a mixture of bourbon, virgin oak and rye barrels, it is bottled at 50% without the addition of dyes or cold filtration. Meikle Toir is not the first peated Speyside single malt whisky, but rather represents a return to tradition, to a time when most Scotch whisky was made from barley dried over peat fires. It translates as 'the great road' and the return to the future style of whisky represents an appropriate kind of innovation. Aroma: baking spices, burnt honey and espresso, hazelnuts, smoked almonds and a hint of butter. Taste: sweet peat, rich chocolate and heather honey, along with subtle notes of cinnamon, ginger and smoked oak sugar. 50% vol. (0,7l)

Meikle Toir, meaning 'the great road', is distinctly different from regular Glenallachie un-peated whisky. However, this particular edition shares something with the distillery's normal operation - it was matured exclusively in sherry casks, specifically puncheon casks that previously held Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry. Meikle Toir 5 Year Old The Sherry One has a high peat content of around 35ppm and has been bottled at 48% with no added coloring and cold chilling. This youthful sherried dram will delight peat fans. 48% vol. (0,7l)

Every aspect of whisky production has been thoroughly researched and masterfully optimized to define the aromatic and taste characteristics of this whisky. Aged in exclusive Chinquapin virgin oak barrels sourced from the Northern Ozark region of Missouri, USA, this single malt offers bold notes of sweet spice and roasted nuts that blend harmoniously with peat smoke. With a phenolic content of 35 PPM, this whisky has a milder smoky style thanks to the continental peat of St. Fergus, used for drying barley. After a long fermentation lasting 160 hours, the whisky acquired a complex character that resists aging in virgin oak barrels. Aroma: smoky oak, burnt licorice and honey, with ginger, caramel and orange peel. Taste: cocoa, crème brûlée and roasted almonds with cinnamon, anise and campfire smoke. 48% vol. (0,7l)

Sedleck wines Grüner Veltliner Oranž 2018
In the production of this wine, elements of the so-called catechin method were used (Kakheti is a region in Georgia where wines are produced in clay vessels buried in the ground, by long maceration of grapes). In our case, at the end of October, we crushed the grapes in a stainless steel container and sealed them hermetically for a period of 7 months. During this time, fermentation and breakdown of malic acid took place in an atmosphere of natural carbon dioxide. Then the young wine was drained into a stainless steel container, where it matured for ten months until it was bottled. The exceptional wine has the color of a demi-glace sauce, the aroma is exceptionally rich. You will find dried yellow-fleshed fruit, yellow melon, plantain syrup and the spiciness of green pepper in it. Some tones are reminiscent of dry fortified wines from Madeira. The pleasant and very full taste has a sweet and spicy effect thanks to the infused tannins. The very long aftertaste with its minerality perfectly underlines the calcareous subsoil of Sedlec vineyards. (0,75l)

Gins 🍸
The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
The Botanist Gin is an exquisite and masterfully refined gin developed by distilling legend Jim McEwan, one of Scotland's most renowned master distillers. Islay botanists handpick 22 herbs that they forage on the hills, coasts and marshes of this fertile island and then carefully dry them to prepare them for distillation and enrich this unique gin. The Botanist is distilled by trickling in the Lomond still, which is the last surviving still in the world. Distilling The Botanist gin is a really slow process. The temperature of the distillate in the boiler increases until it is hand temperature. The base plants are then manually added to the cauldron and left to infuse for 12 hours before the steam pressure is again increased to the low boiling point. Only the purest and lightest vapors penetrate the vaporizer arm, which houses a container containing plants collected on the island of Islay. Even at this stage, there is a return tube, which returns all the heavier condensed distillates to the neck of the boiler. The final stage takes place in a long shell-tube condenser and a proprietary device special to The Botanist, called the Spirit Safe, from which the distilling expert takes samples to determine the rare middle or heart of the distillate. Color bright silver. The olfactory receptors are flooded with the aroma of Aurora Borealis, which explodes in the glass, the aroma develops violently and hits your senses. You will feel the sweet and delicate taste of menthol, apple mint, spring needles, juniper, coriander with anise undertones, lemon and orange peel, summer flowers, honey from thistles, rodent flowers, wild mint and summer meadow. The taste is rich and delicate; cooling at first, but as it develops on the palate, you can feel the warmth and absolute purity gained from the slow and unhurried distillation. This is a truly enchanting, delicate and luxurious gin; its citrusy freshness invigorates and stimulates the taste buds, allowing you to experience a wide range of flavors that explode across the palate. 46% vol. 1 490,00 KčGlen Scotia Double Cask
Glen Scotia Double Cask was matured in a combination of first filling ex-bourbon casks and then ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. An exceptional malt whisky with a perfect balance between fullness, spicy fruit, overlaid with a characteristic marine touch and vanilla. It is not filtered. Color: amber Smell: very sweet. At first just caramel cream, caramelized fruit sugar and wood before turning into apple and peach ... Strong. Taste: sweet start, pleasantly high alcohol content. Dry with added depth. Adds a touch of dry mint with water. The Glen Scotia Distillery (originally Scotia) was founded by Stewart Galbraith in 1832. It says 1835 on the label, but this is probably the year it was put into operation. At the turn of the century there were thirty distilleries in Campbelltown, but Campbelltown whisky had a bad reputation among connoisseurs. The merger of several distilleries, including Glen Scotia, into West Highland Malt Distillers in 1919 did not help either. Five years later, the company went bankrupt. The Glen Scotia manager tried his luck on his own, but he also went bankrupt in 1928 and committed suicide in 1930, (His ghost is said to haunt the distillery to this day.) After the situation improved in the 1930s, Glen Scotia was one of three Campbelltown distilleries to resume production. Since then, it has had several owners and has been closed several times. It is currently owned by Loch Lomond Distillery Co Ltd and operates three months a year under the management of staff from Springbank Distillery. The most common products are 12-, 14- and 17-year-old whisky, in addition to which the distillery also produces 8- and 21-year-old. 46% vol. (0,7l)

Jura ("Dzhura") is aged in sherry and bourbon barrels. The magical Isle of Jura is located off the west coast of Scotland and single malt whisky was first distilled here in 1810, Unlike traditional island whisky, this one is not heavily peated and provides a smoother, softer finish. A light fresh taste with a fruity spicy flavor offers very good balance, tenderness and finesse. In 2004, ten-year-old Jura won a gold medal at the international Wine & Spirits exhibition. Aroma: oily, slightly piney, earthy, salty, dry. Taste: sweet, malty, oily, faint notes of island dryness and saltiness. Finish: malty sweetness and some saltiness. C. Campbell. The restoration took place in the 1950s thanks to Robin Fletcher, Riley-Smith and Delm Evans, who hoped that reopening the distillery would help increase employment opportunities on the island. The new distillery began operations in 1963. Currently, the distillery is owned by Whyte & Mackay Ltd. The original Jurassic whisky was heavily peated, similar to that from the nearby island of Islay, but during the conversion tall stills were installed to produce a lighter whisky more akin to the Highlands. Single malts are bottled at 10, 16 and 21 years of age, the specialties being Superstition (bottled in 2002 without age indication) and Jura 1984 (a 19-year-old whisky made to commemorate the birth of George Orwell, who wrote his novel 1984 on this island.) 40% vol. One of the stone circles is known as Seat Fingal Cauldron, where a stone with a hole carved in it stands. The legendary warrior Fingal is said to have tied his dog to this stone. Seventh limited edition of 120 bottles. Taste: fruity with hints of apple, vanilla and citrus. 46% vol. (0,7l)
1 690,00 KčOban Little Bay
Matured Oban single malt, spent more time in smaller oak casks than is usual for this distillery. A new emphasis on whisky intensity. The whisky is noticeably darker than Oban 14, and we can tell that it has been deeply affected by aging in small oak casks. Aroma: simply a beautiful scent, soothing like a sudden breeze. And unlike its older sibling, Oban Little Bay is lighter on smoke and sea salt. Fruit notes, dried apricots and a bit of smoke. Taste: creates a perfectly balanced interplay of caramel, hazelnuts and coffee beans, harmoniously salty. Combined with a hint of brown sugar and spice, it creates a bold and rich texture that allows its flavors to integrate nicely. Finish: saltiness, smokiness, fruit and sweetness. Completion is shorter. 43% vol. (0,7l)
1 799,00 KčScapa Orcadian

1 690,00 KčIsle of Jura 12y
Rich whisky whose charm comes from the combined maturation in American white oak casks and Oloroso sherry casks. The Isle of Jura Distillery was founded in 1810, but according to historical evidence, illegal distilling has been taking place on the remote island since the early 16th century, so unofficially it could be the oldest distillery in Scotland. In 1875, the distillery was bought by James Ferguson, who rebuilt it in 1884. However, at the beginning of the 20th century, the distillery was closed due to a dispute with the local Mr. C. Campbell. The restoration took place in the 1950s thanks to Robin Fletcher, Riley-Smith and Delm Evans, who hoped that reopening the distillery would help increase employment opportunities on the island. A new distillery opened in 1963. The distillery is now owned by Whyte & Mackay Ltd. The original Jurassic whisky was heavily peated, similar to that from the nearby island of Islay, but during the rebuilding, tall stills were installed which produce a lighter whisky resembling rather the Highlands area. Single malts are bottled at 10, 16 and 21 years of age, the specialties being Superstition (bottled in 2002 without age indication) and Jura 1984 (a 19-year-old whisky made to commemorate the birth of George Orwell, who wrote his novel 1984 on this island.) The gift package contains two designer glasses with the distillery logo. 40% vol. (0,7l)
